World Earth Healing Day

World Earth Healing Day Reports: 1996

Below is a selection of the reports we received from those who observed World Earth Healing Day 1996.

Diane and I arrived at Avebury the night before the twelfth. We went into the stone circle to align our energies and greet the spirit of the place. We then felt guided to walk counter-clockwise around the henge to open the site vortex. When we returned to the Obelisk stone afterwards, it was dusk, and I felt the presence of Native American spirits overlooking the site. When the morning came we repeated the circuit around the henge, but this time in a clockwise direction, to ground the higher energies into the site. It was very windy - as if to mark the shift in energy that was taking place. Like the night before, we paused at where the road cuts through the henge, and, taking up positions on either side of the road, we beamed energy across, one of us sending, the other receiving. The wind seemed to pick up as we channelled the energy, and to calm down when we were done. I'm sure that some of the passing motorists thought that we were a couple of eccentrics with our hands outstretched and eyes closed, but who knows, we may have planted a seed within their minds that will one day be awakened.

At 12:00 GMT (1pm British Summer Time), thirty of us linked hands in a circle around the Obelisk (a nodal point for the Michael and Mary energy lines) to sound the OM and connect with everyone else around the world. It was a wonderful experience, and the OM always sounds ethereal. A number of us stayed on for the New Moon meditation, which was longer in duration, and more focused. To meditate at the exact time of any New Moon is important because it is the very moment when the energies of the Sun and Moon combine as a unity and set the signature for the whole lunar cycle; but this day was very special with the eclipse, and Chiron, the healer, was conjoined by them both in Libra, the sign of love and harmony, facilitating the healing of separation upon the planet.

We were delighted to discover that between the two link-up times a pagan wedding had taken place in the stone circle. The symbolism of this - the uniting of polar opposites - was obvious, and felt so appropriate for the day, particularly as it had taken place around another nodal point on the Michael and Mary lines.

The World Earth Healing Day was the realisation of a dream that I've had for many years. The day itself passed in a bit of a daze. Part of me couldn't quite believe that it was actually happening. It was wonderful being at Avebury (my heart centre), meeting up with old friends and people I'd had contact with by phone or letter in the previous weeks and months. The OM at 1pm was wonderful, and I loved how the circle kept expanding as more people joined in. The New Moon meditation at 3.14pm was with a smaller circle of people, but it felt more intense. I arrived back home that evening feeling exhausted but very happy.

For me the time leading up to the day was just as important as the day itself. I had so many inspiring conversations and letters from people all over the world; it was all a bit overwhelming at times, but also incredibly uplifting. Every day I would come home from work and find letters and messages on the answerphone from people wanting information, and I made some lovely connections.

Thank you to everyone who made contact and took part on the day. I fully believe that we made a difference. Thank you also to the gods, goddesses, devas, spirits, and all the other manifestations of the Great Consciousness who were with us on that day and who helped it to happen. And lastly, a huge great THANK YOU to Leigh for giving me the love, encouragement, and support to do my life's work.

Saturday October 12 1996 will be remembered by over 150 individuals as the day when they felt at one with like-minded folk all over the globe. The day of the Moon's eclipse of the Sun was also a time for caring souls in all continents to join together, sending their love to each other and to the Earth. In Northants the event brought alive Chichele College in Higham Ferrers for a day of self-development workshops, circle-dancing, and a mass OM connecting therapist with lecturer, lorry driver with poet, and all of us with the emerging world spirit of consensus and community.

What better occasion to launch NOAH and to remind the residents of this lovely county: 'Anything can work if we pool together.'

The event at Higham was organised with tremendous enthusiasm and effectiveness by Brenda Lett and group of friends. Brenda, a Reiki practitioner, involved in vibrational healing, channelling, counselling, and complementary health analysis, is well known for her work as a local therapist.

It was a wonderful day. We 'OM'ed for twenty minutes and did it again at 2pm by popular request! The BBC broadcast it live so many other folk throughout Sussex could join in. We had a ball! With rock 'n' roll and poetry to improvised 'Outback/Bush' music created by a couple of musicians who asked to 'sit in'. There were over a hundred of us who wanted the day to go on and on, and staggered out into the afternoon sunshine at 4pm, still high on OM energy.

Approximately forty people gathered at Long Meg in Cumbria for the World Earth Healing Day. Long Meg is a stone circle of 59 stones, some fifteen feet high. Out of the forty people, a small group of seven people stayed on for the meditation and New Moon at 3.14pm. We saw the eclipse clearly and afterwards saw shimmering energy around the Sun, followed by colours of yellow, pink, and purple. On the mountains which surround the site were orbs of the same colours.

This was impressive, but more impressive still were the golden orbs of light which surrounded the site after the eclipse. Quite suddenly the Sun went behind the clouds, and although the site was in the shade, the standing stones in dark silhouette, and the people also in the shade, their faces were GOLDEN in colour, as if the Sun was still shining on them. It was a very mystical experience.

A group of thirty-four were granted special access into Stonehenge to hold a meditation at 8pm on October 12 to link up with groups all over the planet. Half of the group convened in the centre, to hold the heart energy of the sacred etheric rose; the other half convened around the outside of the stones, to hold the energy-link with the planet and other groups worldwide. The meditation then became a breathing-in and -out of the heart energy as the group inside moved to carry the light to the outer circle and out into the planet, and the group outside moved to the centre to focus the intention and love from all over the planet into this sacred centre. This movement continued for three cycles over a period of two hours. We were left with a powerful feeling of connection to the whole planet; many were profoundly aware of the energy of World Healing flowing through the planetary energy grid, and the importance of continued and regular worldwide link-ups to assist this beautiful process of planetary awakening.

On October 12 (Red Self-Existing Earth), a group of fifteen of us held a ceremony at Kenwood Tower ruins, a local sacred site. We formed a circle and stood a circle of candles in the centre. A rose marked each of the four directions. We asked that our love and sound be taken deep into the Earth energy grid and to all joining us on this sacred day; that our hearts be linked in oneness, and that the Goddess be reborn in everyone. As we sang the Song of the One Heart, we visualised everyone across the world united in peace and love, with the masculine and feminine balanced within them. We linked up again in silent meditation at 14:14 GMT for 30 minutes. During the ceremony, the link with all others taking part across the world was very strong, and the link with the heart of the Earth was so beautiful that many of us were moved to tears.

Our thanks to Leigh and Diane for organising the day. I feel that these events are so important for the growth of global spiritual unity.

If everyone all over the world had as wonderful a healing day as we did, they'd have been blessed as we have. I must thank you both for all your hard work in getting this day organised.

In the end only five could come. Some had last minute hitches. Still, we were five and we took off by car to a village three miles away called Warhay where there is an ancient fort. The Sun was shining and the breeze was lovely. The air was like wine. We stood in the middle, and, after a prayer and a poem, I was given a channelling all about the healing of the Earth. I took the girls into the meditation. It was lovely, very powerful, and we all felt connected to all the other circles all over the world. Finally, when I brought them back to their own space, we were all crying. We said prayers and closed down and came back here to my little sanctuary, a room at the top of my home where I had crystals and candles and flowers. We all had tea and sandwiches and talked of many lovely things. We also saw the eclipse.

Thank you again my dears for all your hard work, and I pray that Mother Earth has benefitted and that her soul felt all the love and healing that has been sent out to her. I hope this is the first of many.

Hear my voice. I am present. I flow through the universe. In this time I establish my being. I am Ishtar, and my form comes into full light. Do I not summon you to new life? I come to each and for each. The gift I bring is yours to take and use. All seeds are together for a new beginning. I am that force which binds together, and I hear the voices which call me. See here the dove of peace that you have summoned.

My power will manifest in many forms. There will be disruption but not destruction. Await the one who holds all colours, who will weave again the tapestry of the universe with new shades and perfect light. Know your birthright as others must know theirs. I thank you all, each one of you who has reached out. My light flows through you again. You will release those bonds which still confine you. Your patterns will become more fluid; attachment less taut. You will flow as the Earth will flow. Bear these moments in your heart.

I am Ishtar, Queen of Light. Turn to the Sun and from my hands will fall again that light upon the Earth. We have moved from the darkness and all is restored. Be comforted, this task is done. I am Ishtar and am returned.

The various experiences people had on October 12 were very moving. I joined you in spirit as I sat under my friend 'King Ash' - a mighty tree on the edge of some woods near where I live.

On October 12 a gathering of around 15 people enjoyed a beautiful curry meal, then linked up in meditation. The energy and atmosphere were so joyful on the night that after the meditation people got up and began to dance to a tape I had specially constructed containing songs to do with peace and harmony. The meditation we shared on that night was one of a series of meditations given to me by an energy known to me as Spirit of the Crystals and Gemstones. The meditation was on the beautiful crystal UNIKITE, and we placed a piece of this crystal on the back of a light card imprinted with the Yin/Yang symbol, so that people were able to focus on the aspect of balance within themselves and within the world.

On October 12 my daughters (aged 14, 13, and 12) and I held a ceremony together. It was beautiful and I would like to share it with you. We set up an Earth Altar on a circular table. In the centre of the table we put a small cauldron. We also put out a green candle, a pink candle, and a white candle; and a bottle each of Bergamot, Rosemary, and Niaouli essential oils, along with some special Earth Incense which Michele had made for us. Next, Aimee drew on a piece of parchment symbols to represent Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. We all wrote, on separate pieces of paper, a personal prayer asking for healing for the Earth. We burned the Earth Incense and made offerings to the cardinal points. I then anointed the green candle with Niaouli oil, for healing, and lit it. We visualised a green light coming up from the candle and encompassing the Earth with its healing light. Next I anointed the pink candle with Rosemary oil, for love, and lit it. We visualised a pink light encompassing the Earth with love. Then I anointed the white candle with Bergamot oil, for peace, and lit it. We visualised the white light encompassing the Earth with its protection and peace. Aimee read out her prayer and then lit her piece of paper from the flames of each of the candles, asking for healing, love, and peace for the Earth; and dropped the paper into the cauldron. Katie read out her prayer and did the same as Aimee, followed by myself and then Lucy. After that, Aimee took the parchment with the symbols, lit it from each of the flames and dropped it into the cauldron too. We linked hands around the table and closed our eyes, visualising healing for the Earth; and peace and love for all. We stood in silence for several minutes and then closed the ceremony, giving thanks. The ashes were sprinkled in the garden. It was a lovely ceremony and the children enjoyed taking part, being involved and 'doing their bit' for the Earth.

There are many others who have shared their experiences of the day with us in conversation, who were unable to get anything down on paper. A friend who was on holiday in Sedona and the Mayalands reported taking part in a large Hopi ceremony at Sunrise at the time of the meditation. We know from the letters we received that people were also participating across Europe, in America, Australia, South Africa, and Hong Kong.
