World Earth Healing Day Reports: 1997
Below is a selection of the reports we received from those who observed World Earth Healing Day 1997.
Thirty of us gathered in Avebury Stone Circle for the first link-up time at 12 noon GMT (1pm BST). We went into meditation beneath the warmth of the Sun, who blessed our day with his steadfast gaze. During the twenty minutes of this meditation I felt tremendous peace, and the power of the energy we built up was felt by onlookers. Going round the circle, each one of us then offered a prayer for the healing of Mother Earth and Humanity, which was beautiful to behold, for each voice was like a facet of a crystal catching the Sun's rays as it turned. Amma Ra then spoke an invocation and we toned the Song of the One Heart, a multidimensional sound which is guaranteed to move all as the many levels of consciousness are called back to Oneness. I then offered a few words for the healing and harmonisation of all relationships, which Chiron in Libra was calling us to do as part of the Grand Cross formed by the planets on this day. At the end of our link-up we were full of smiles and hugged each other with joy. It was a delight to greet new friends as well as old.
Hearing that a crop circle had appeared a week before at Alton Priors, a few miles outside Avebury, we took this as a greeting card from Mother Earth, and drove there in convoy. We experienced the peace of sitting in the crop circle, which seemed to be a pictographic representation of the Earth's expanding energy fields, and some of us felt the energy pulsing through our bodies.
At 6.30 GMT (7.30 BST), thirty of us went into Stonehenge to prepare for the second link-up, having been granted special access by English Heritage. We started with a healing ceremony to empower the site and its Guardian Deva. The Guardian Deva of any sacred site helps to maintain the energy of its vortex and ley system, and we can help restore the power of any site by working with the Deva, who in some cases may feel unloved, abused, or oppressed. In our meditation we offered the Stonehenge Deva our love, light, and assistance, and visualised the site being energised and radiating its light outwards to uplift all. After this we performed a ceremony for the resolution of polarity, which was symbolised by the Grand Cross. David Ash and his partner Liesbeth, who had their wedding on this day, formed the focus of the ceremony, which led up to the moment when the Sun set and the Moon and Neptune rose; these planets formed part of the Grand Cross, which at that instant aligned exactly to the horizon and sealed the ceremony. We finished with a few songs by David on guitar (who spoke of his involvement in a project to channel Arab Oil money to benefit Humanity and the Earth), and a silent dance in which we formed two concentric circles that continuously interchanged with each other, symbolising the merging of duality into unity.
For the third link-up time at 3.15am GMT (4.15 BST) on July 20, three of us arrived at Windmill Hill, a fantastic tumulus north of Avebury which, like Avebury Stone Circle itself, is a node point for the Michael and Mary lines that stretch from St Michael's Mount in Cornwall to the east coast of Norfolk. At the exact time of the Full Moon, which energised the Grand Cross to bring powerful healing energies to Earth, we stood upon the tumulus and linked up in meditation. I felt my heart chakra expand as I channelled the unconditional love through me, and the intensity of the energies was extremely moving. This was also the moment when, amazingly, the Grand Cross aligned with the Midheaven at the sacred site of Uluru in Australia, and with the Ascendant at the Great Pyramid in Egypt, and I believe these sites were being activated by the powerful healing energies that the worldwide link-up was generating.- Leigh Tremaine, Birmingham
The 1997 World Earth Healing Day was a wonderful and magical time for me. Due to delays I arrived at Avebury for the first link-up with only a short time to spare. Although there were only a few people at first, as soon as we started to form a circle more and more arrived. The meditation seemed to happen organically, with silence, stillness, and focus gradually descending on the circle. The energy felt very intense, and I had a vision of us as a powerful generator sending healing energies out around the Planet. As this first meditation was coming to an end, I felt a strong need to release some of the energy which had built up inside me by toning, and other people joined me. We then linked hands, and, keeping in our hearts a vision of the world as we want to see it, we sent that vision out with a great 'whoop'. We then drew the circle in, and each of us was given the chance to offer a few positive words for the Healing of the Earth. Leigh then led us through a beautiful meditation on harmony, and Amma Ra led us through some more toning. It was a very powerful time.On leaving Avebury we went in convoy to a crop circle which had appeared some days before at Alton Priors. It was the first time that I've ever been in a crop circle, and it felt very special.
In the evening we went to Stonehenge. Before this year I hadn't been there since 1984, when I last remembered the site being surrounded by police. I felt incredibly sad then, as we had been celebrating the Solstice there for many years. What I felt on July 19, though, was a wonderful elation. As I walked around touching the Stones before we gathered together, I felt them giggling in a way that the truly wise and compassionate do. I felt wonderful and child-like. Leigh led us through an initial meditation to contact the Devas of the site and to ask them to work with us (my Deva was an old gnome drunk on mead, who started drinking because he rarely had visitors anymore; he gradually sobered up as the evening wore on, and I think we left him feeling much happier). Amma Ra then led a ceremony for the unification of the male and female, which focused on two people who had got married earlier on in the day - it was very moving and very beautiful. We then sang songs and just enjoyed the ambience of being there.
For the final link-up we were at Windmill Hill, just outside Avebury, a very special and powerful place where the Michael and Mary lines cross. There were only three of us, but it felt wonderful to link up with others who were working across the world at that time.

On July 19 a meditation for personal and planetary well-being was held beside the Long Man of Wilmington, East Sussex, an ancient sacred site. A small group of seven gathered and held two meditations, one inside a hall and one outside beneath Windover Hill, where the Long Man resides. We felt the power of the landscape through our bodies as we aligned ourselves to the healing energies of the universe. We had a group of ten in the evening on July 19. One of our group, after he was safely delivered to his tiny cottage, went through to the Clava Stones (near Culloden) with four of his own group, for the 4.15am meditation. For my part, I suggested to Alastair that we use our small alarm clock - I am one of those who 'die' at night - but on the night I found that I had to get up, and when I looked at the clock in our hallway it was 4.12am - so you can guess I had another session on my own. I have been in touch now with Mandy Grant. She said she was going to some old stones near Aviemore on the evening of July 19. Good luck with all your hard work. Following on from the World Earth Healing Day meditation of the previous evening, the Stonehenge meditation group convened in Stonehenge at 4am BST on July 20 for the Full Moon. We celebrated the marriage of two of our group who had chosen this moment to make their commitment to each other and the Planet. This was a beautiful moment - as the Sun rose they exchanged their rings, symbolising the marriage of the divine masculine and the divine feminine.- Marcus Mason And Caroline Wyndham, Devon

I went to my little sanctuary to link up. It was amazing, the energy that was generating around. I said lovely prayers from Sandy Stevenson's The Awakener, then went into a deep meditation on Healing the Earth. I did it again in the evening. The Planet is so in need of love and healing. It is such a special day to be able to tune in with everyone and enhance the energy levels. There are such great changes taking place in the universe and on our own world.- Millie Nudds, Norfolk
On 19 July I was called with my husband John to the Tor at Glastonbury. I stopped at Stonehenge first where I aligned the stones through the heel stone using a rainbow Isis crystal. I took this crystal onto the Tor at Sunset. We met up with Mark who had been with a group at Avebury who were going onto Stonehenge at Sunset with a Crystal Skull. He brought their energies onto the Tor to link with us. Through the day there had been a procession from the Abbey through the High Street to the Tor connected with Christ, which seemed appropriate, so the whole of Glastonbury had been bathed in Christ energy. I sat facing the Sun on the Tor; John and Mark sat either side of me anchoring the Earth energies (they are Capricorns), while I drew down the triangle of light (I am a Libran). I connected the Isis crystals to the crystal skull in Stonehenge. Just at that moment someone started to play a didgeridoo. That transported me back to the Sacred Cave at the bottom of Uluru, Central Australia, at the 1996 Autumn Equinox; then to the Tor at the Winter Solstice; then to the Great Pyramid in Egypt at the 1997 Spring Equinox; and then to the Pyrenees in France at the Summer Solstice. I then fixed this energy once more through the Tor and back into Stonehenge. I saw a star alignment of Geometric formulation appear and then a merkaba. I again flew over the Great Pyramid where I could see a large deep pink pyramid of perfect form transcend over the stone pyramid, and then a perfect white crystal capstone came down into the top of the pink pyramid. This reflected brilliant rays of light across the plateau and out around the world, linking Stonehenge, Uluru, Glastonbury, and all of the sacred sites and was taken down into the core of the Earth and then up again to align with the Sun. It was a very moving experience, and as it all finished the didgeridoos stopped playing. I looked up at the Sun: it had turned into a ball of gold and it seemed to be resting on two crossed swords made up of two clouds.That night we slept at the bottom of the Tor under a Full Moon. Someone was playing a rhythmic drum through the night that seemed to beat with my heart, and I drifted off into another world of Earth magic. At one stage I awoke to see the sky covered in a pink mist. I felt total peace and one with all.

We had a beautiful and powerful meditation for the World Earth Healing Day. Working with the Devas and Elementals, we invoked the Flame of Healing and Transmutation - the Emerald Green Ray with an Amethyst radiance - and focused it upon the land masses of our Planet; the vegetation; the animals and birds; the marine life, particularly the dolphins and whales; and the upon the astral regions. We meditated with love for a few minutes on each of these, feeling the hurts inflicted, and healing them, transmuting the negativity into light to release Mother Earth and all upon her into a wholeness of love, harmony, and peace. Next we linked the harmonious days of Lemuria to our present day spiritual life with a rainbow path and bridge over the chasm of the fall of man. We then linked through to the Sirius Star System and were bathed in light and love, which we radiated outwards to surround our Planet. We finished the meditation with the Great Invocation and the three AUMs. Words cannot describe the wonderful upliftment and beauty of the meditation. A friend who was present remarked recently that during this meditation she felt a whole load falling off her shoulders (she has many burdens), and a wonderful lightness and release that is still with her. A group of us here in the Tropics held a meditation on July 20 for the love of our Mother Earth. We live in paradise here but never take it for granted.
