World Earth Healing Day Reports: 1998
Below is a selection of the reports we received from those who observed World Earth Healing Day 1998.
On Monday 25 May over 40 of us gathered in Avebury Stone Circle for the first meditation link-up at 1pm. The meditation, which was blessed by the warmth of the Sun, was a profound experience for us all, and I was buzzing with energy as I linked up with all those joining us from around the world to anchor in the new energies of oneness. Amma-Ra then led us into the Song of the One Heart, in which we all toned from the heart, sending out reverberations across the many dimensions of reality. I then spoke a few words on the power of the circle as a symbol and affirmation of our essential unity, and how those who form it can influence the collective consciousness through resonance when aligned to Spirit. I asked that we hold the vision of the unity of all things, placing it in our hearts to be held at all times for the furtherance of all. We then passed a sword around our circle, which symbolised the light that emerges when polarity is unified, and each one of us held it for a few minutes in silent meditation and affirmation. Finally we listened with captivation as Ian played some of his own songs to us on guitar, celebrating the unifying power of love. As we mingled afterwards, more than one person said that they had been strangely diverted to Avebury - a sign, it would seem, that they were divinely guided to be there.
In between the two main link-up times, a group of us visited the nearby site of Silbury Hill, a magnificent man-made hill that, when seen from the air, is the belly of a pregnant Earth Mother image formed by the landscape of the area. We climbed to the top of this massive mound, which is a reservoir for the nurturing feminine energy of the Mary line, and looked out across the landscape to a crop circle which had formed a few weeks ago in a nearby field. We then formed a circle to link to the energies of the site, and did some deep toning. From Silbury Hill we went on to Windmill Hill, a beautifully still place which is a crossing-point for the Michael and Mary lines. It was raining now, but we enjoyed huddling beneath our umbrellas on top of the tumulus, where we did some more toning, watched on by a herd of sheep who had gathered around us below!For the second main link-up time at 8.20pm BST, twenty-six of us gathered inside the sublime and magical site of Stonehenge, having been given 'special access' by English Heritage. The meditation link-up was timed to coincide with the exact time of the New Moon at 8.32pm BST, which, with Pluto and the Moon's Nodes, formed a 'Grand Cross', a powerful alignment which calls us to unify our polarities and move into Oneness. This particular Grand Cross was bringing special energies to Earth to help with the transformation of understanding to a higher level of truth and wisdom (Sun and New Moon in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius), and with the merging of the spiritual and physical realms (North Node in Virgo opposite South Node in Pisces). Neptune, the planet of spiritual awareness and unconditional love, and Mars, the planet of energy, were closely aligned to the Sun and New Moon, helping us to tap into the highest spiritual energies of the Source. The power of the energy that we were working with was felt as soon as we entered the meditation. It felt to me that we had moved through a dimensional gateway, and many of us felt the presence of light beings around us.
I spoke a few words on the theme of unity consciousness, which included the recognition that we are on Planet Earth to learn how to unite the spiritual and the physical by grounding our spirituality in practical, loving service to the divinity in all people and things. These words I sent out into the collective consciousness, and asked that love, peace, and harmony return. We then linked hands, and I felt the energy spinning around our circle, arcing like electricity. We started toning spontaneously, and it sounded like a choir of angels was joining us as we were connecting across many dimensions. There was a feeling of ecstasy as we held the awareness of the unity of all things, and time seemed to have stopped. When the toning was complete we passed a candle around the circle, symbolising the Light of the Source and the Flame of Transmutation. Each of us, as we held the candle, said a prayer or a few words, or just held the energy; the beauty and wisdom of these moments will always remain with me. We were all deeply moved by the experience. Finally, Ian played some more of his songs on guitar, and we linked hands and danced around him, full of joy and celebration. The Stonehenge gathering was the perfect finish for perhaps the most moving day I have experienced. The energy we had generated locally and globally could clearly be felt. I would like to share how wonderful I felt to have played a small part in an event that has intentions so large. We experienced all the elements, wind, rain, and sun as we stood in a circle at Avebury's sacred site and smelt the warmth rising from the wet grass. I opened my eyes while we were linked together and the sky and the grass had changed colour like a photograph that had been exposed in the wrong way. When I closed my eyes the colour was blue, so very blue, and I could hardly believe it, but when my friend Toby said he had seen the same colour I knew it was real to me. As we passed the sword around the circle, we gave a personal contribution, my own to honour the directions which I hoped with all my heart would carry our peaceful message north, south, east, west, above us and below us, all around the world.Our toning was sent up and around at Avebury, Silbury Hill, Windmill Hill, and finally at Stonehenge. When Leigh held the candle of light in his hands at Stonehenge, I thought of my friends in Lichfield who were also holding their candles of light and dedicating them to healing love; and the reality that there were groups just like us sending their unconditionally loving thoughts outwards overwhelmed me to tears, for both givers and receivers of love. Indeed we were not alone: when I closed my eyes again I saw Stonehenge full of beings all surrounded by white; for me it gave me courage and respect, for again we were standing on an ancient site that is and has been for centuries very sacred and special. So, when I received the candle, my words were for thanks in the form of sayings that dated back to 1000 BC and honoured both the natural world and the men inhabiting it then - just as we were honouring Earth and its inhabitants now. In south London we tried to do our bit in our own way. I wanted to be able to generate as much loving kindness as possible. Pierre and I invited some good friends around for a WEHD garden party, working flat out for two weeks to prepare our overgrown, drab council flat into a colourful, peaceful haven. We painted the wall in three bold and bright panels - the first contains the yin-yang symbol, the second the OM symbol, and the third the crucifix rising out of the Star of David, representing what I see as the three major strides of the Spirit over recent millennia. We planted shrubs and climbers in an area of white stone, dug a pond which now features a cascade fountain, and built a shrine in which a Buddha statue from India sits and observes proceedings. We planned the garden party and prayed fervently for sunshine, which was delivered, and succeeded in creating an atmosphere for the party in which everyone could feel relaxed and at home. Fourteen people came, enjoyed sangria and a barbecue, along with laughter and good conversation.Pierre and I had joined in with the first link-up of the day, and I had spent some time cleansing the flat and garden for the evening session. Nine of us were left for the link-up, of whom only one person apart from Pierre and I is a regular meditator. The others have a strong spiritual nature, but are not used to expressing or exploring it - but they were drawn to the WEHD idea and keen to join in. We settled into a circle inside the flat, candles lit and incense burning, and spent twelve minutes in silent communion, this turning out to be the perfect way to end a pleasant afternoon, the perfect opportunity to dedicate all the positive energy that had been generated in friendship and laughter to the healing of the world. It was wonderful to visualise people all over the world sitting down at the same time, and I am convinced a powerful link-up took place. We were all left feeling uplifted, and there have been many comments on how good people have been feeling since.

My husband and I participated in the second meditation link-up at 7.20pm GMT (8.20pm BST). We were on our own and took about twenty minutes to do our bit for world peace and harmony. I visualised a location on the Planet, beginning with my own flat and progressing out to our village, town, county, country, the United Kingdom, and groups of countries (seven times for each, and seven colours). On completing each continent I then visualised power from the North to the South Poles, and in reverse, from South to North (seven times, seven colours, and white). The final thing was to enclose the whole of Planet Earth with the seven rays of the rainbow in turn, and then to combine these in the white light of the Cosmic Christ. Each time I used the form of a lemniscate (a continuous ascending and descending spiral), taking up from each place the negative pollution until it reached and was cleansed by the high vibrations of the topmost point, which then descended as good and positive influences into each focus point. I closed my visualisation with the Latin blessing In Nomine Patri et Fili, et Spiritus Sanctus.The amazing thing was - just before I began the meditation, I put on two necklaces, separately, one over the other. The first was a silver ankh cross which my husband made for my birthday; the second was a crystal suspended on a chain. These two necklaces I placed under my jumper on my bare skin. We both sat still for the rest of the evening. On retiring for the night, I removed my jumper and discovered that the two necklaces had become completely and evenly entwined together from back to front. In no way could this have been achieved except by manually looping the two necklaces one over the other. I neither moved nor touched either.

On May 28 I read about World Earth Healing Day, and to me it explained some experiences that I had on Monday 25 May. First in the afternoon I had this strange feeling of connection with a small group of people. I was out on a walk and I had to just stop for a moment. The evening I spent at a meeting. On my way home, between 9.15 and 9.30 (7.15 and 7.30 GMT), I had a very strong and unforgettable experience which lasted for more than half an hour. I felt and saw the Earth stronger than ever. I felt the connection with Mother Earth, felt the living nature around me, and I kept on seeing the globe with my third eye. My experience shows to me the impact that the World Earth Healing day has. I felt it even though I was totally unaware of it. I would like to thank you for the initiative, and you've got my best wishes for the future.- Lene Sorensen, Albertslund, Denmark
Six of us linked in with the World Earth Healing Day meditation at 12 noon GMT (2pm here). Others were unable to come, but joined in with loving thoughts. It was a very beautiful and powerful ceremony full of light and love and joy and healing. We linked with all life on Earth - our Mother Earth, the flora and fauna, the animal kingdom, and Humanity - bringing us into a harmonious and loving inter-relationship, with emphasis on lifting Humanity up with a consciousness of light and love and healing for our Planet - instead of desecrating and polluting it. We were surrounded by the Angelic Host and beings of light. Then we invoked the flame of healing and transmutation (emerald green ray with amethyst radiance) and focused it upon all the different aspects of life on Earth, including the waters of our Planet and all life therein - especially dolphins and whales. Then we united with the spiritual kingdom from which we have been separated for so long. It was a beautiful meditation. Others who were unable to put their experiences down on paper have shared them with us in conversation, and we have found their words inspiring. For example, Wendy Willett (Arctres) and a group travelled to Sellafield on May 25 to cleanse the Earth of pollution. The group included some South American shamen and an Italian stigmatist, and were joined in the healing circle by members of Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth. It is wonderful to hear that a healing circle can be as inclusive as this.
